Colour & Symbol

Family Elder (NPC)

Rev. Cotton Porter

Family Ability

"I rebuke you!"

Wearing predominantly black with a very restrained and pious look. They always wear a plain cross (not a rosary) on full display. They may have elements of lace and embroidery in their attire, but it is kept simple, believing that ostentatiousness leads to sin, they ensure decoration is minimal but dignified.
  • The Porters sought out a new land in hopes of creating a “Religious experiment” by creating a colony in the vision of God. A new Eden. “The House Upon the Hill”.
  • The Porters are particularly vocal in their religious authority, and are especially distrustful of other religious attitudes.
  • They are the first to call out those who might be acting ‘in sin’ and the first to praise the Lord for the bounty they have received.
  • More than anything the religious sanctity of the colony must be upheld above all else.

Family Ability

Family Ability: “I rebuke you!”

“I rebuke you” is an action only a Porter player can do. It can be used once per game in any circumstance.

It must be exclaimed loudly enough for everyone to hear with a hand pointed at the person the ability is directed at. Any player or NPC who is ‘rebuked’ will be overcome with an overwhelming sense of religious condemnation. They will feel as if God has forsaken them and they are damned, their soul is marked unless they are able to gain forgiveness from The Porters or are convinced that God has forgiven them.
