Frequently Asked Questions
We have tried to cover the most important and frequently asked questions presented here. If your question does not appear in this list, please do not hesitate to contact the Game Team via Email, Discord or the Facebook Page.
What is your experience for this type of game?
Members of the Game Team have a variety of experiences featuring levels of intense and extreme content including;
-
Running, Crewing and Playing LARP events of similar calibre
-
Directing, Performing and Crewing Theatrical Performances
-
Long and short films for both public consumption and for military training purposes
-

What does "high-peril" mean?
We class this game as 'high-peril' as there are numerous dangerous scenarios that could occur and result in character death.
Calvary's End and its surrounding area has many threats and dangers. Some are obvious and others less-so. The intent is to generate a level of fear, tension and paranoia for players to roleplay within.
While the Game Team are not intending to kill off characters as part of this game, the threat of it is a possibility, and we wish for players to be aware of this fact before committing to the game.
How will you promote player agency?
We intend to promote player agency as much as we are able for this game, and have described it somewhat as a "choose your own adventure". NPCs will react and respond to players on an individual basis which may open up new dialogue options, interactions and scenarios.
It will not be possible for all players to engage with all encounters, and players will have to make the choice of what and where their focus lies. There are multiple outcomes of scenarios depending on player action (or in-action).
Our hope is for each player to have a different experience and story to tell at the end of the game.
Where can I sleep?
The site allows for both IC and OC camping, there are also a number of small cabins that are available for accessibility requirements and any leftover will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. Closer to the event we will get in touch re: cabin spaces for attendees.
The site does not have running water and so attendees will be required to bring their own supplies of water. This means that there are no showers on site and there are portable toilets. For further questions regarding the site and its facilities, we suggest contacting Gunman Airsoft for further details.

There are a few local B&Bs and hotels within driving distance of the site should you wish.
Do you have content warnings and safeguarding?
Yes. These are available here and will be re-iterated at the start of the event. If you have any questions or issues, please get in touch with the Game Team.
What does "inconsistent combat" mean?
The Game Team refer to Calvary's End as an "inconsistent combat" event featuring "high peril". There will be scenarios and locations in the game which will be sign-posted as being more dangerous than others, meaning there is a greater likelihood of combat occurring - however, not all peril will be attributed to combat.
To promote player agency we simply cannot rule out the possibility of combat, as player action (or in-action) may increase or lower the chances for combat to occur. This is not intended to be a meat-grinder or combat-focused event, but rather is supplemented by the possibility of combat. Players who are low or non-com are more than welcome at this event. We ask non-com players to read the PD rules regarding "non-contact" before attending the event.
How accessible is this game?
As much as we wish to promote accessibility, we acknowledge that aspects of the game will be inaccessible due to rough terrain and thick woodland. Gunman Airsoft Eversley does not have running water facilities and makes use of portable toilets that do not have wheelchair access.
Please consider this before attending. We will endeavour to try and make Calvary's End as accessible as possible within the site's limitations and ask that if you have specific requirements to please get in contact with the Game Team so we can discuss your needs.
For further questions regarding the site and its facilities, we suggest contacting Gunman Airsoft for further details.
I am not playing a Dawnish character. Can I still play?
Yes. The game is set in a Dawnish region located in the Barrens, meaning a number of the NPCs will be Dawnish. However, there are also a number of non-Dawnish NPCs present, and each NPC will react and respond to players differently based on their history, experiences and culture. NPCs reactions and opinions will be affected by player engagement and interaction. As far as the people of Calvary’s End are concerned you are “Imperial Heroes” first.
